We are pleased to announce that the registration period for our next round of Wild Roots is now open! Orders will be taken first come, first served, so place your tree orders soon!

Trees and forests play an incredible role in our watersheds by reducing runoff, filtering sediment, removing pollutants, strengthening and stabilizing stream banks, providing shade, and creating critical habitat for many species of aquatic and terrestrial wildlife. Wild Roots is a large scale reforestation initiative that aims to improve watershed function and natural habitats by offering trees to landowners at a discounted rateOver five years, the pilot program’s goal is to plant 100,000 native trees and shrubs across Northern Michigan.

With support from Consumers Energy Foundation, U.S. Forest Service’s Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, USDA Forest Service Huron-Manistee National Forest, and ITC – we are making it easy for landowners to improve their watersheds by planting native trees and restoring the landscape for future generations.

For the 2020 season of Wild Roots, we are selling packages of 100 trees for only $30. The order period is November 1-30, 2019 and payment is due when you place your order. The trees will be available for pick-up in late April 2020. CRA will notify participants of pick-up locations in early spring.
